Little Takes The Win At The Gold Fields
All Stars Media posted Sunday February 14, 2010.
While rain caused havoc throughout Victoria the Fire Service Plus Sprintcar All Star Series had sunshine and a great crowd at Redline Raceway, Mt Bunyniong last night. And what a feature race the crowd were privileged to be a part of with three lead changes. # SA11 Karl Enderl’s Clarend Freight Cool taking the lead at the green only to have the Bartlett’s Auto Centre Cool #SA75 - Colin Brooks snatch it from him early in the race. Brooks lead for ¾ of the feature.
The Kimbo Transport #NSW 20 of Troy Little sitting back waiting his time to pounce – which is did with 4 laps to go, snatching the A Main win from Brooks. Also the welcome return of Darren Hickman’s Deep Creek Marina #V40 J & J who started in position 7 and worked his way to third. “You could tell it was going to be a good feature by the line up order – Brooks, Enderl, Little, Ely, Lock and young Rookie Michael Phillips who probably had his best night for the season all in the top 6. They were always going to put a show on for us.” says Mandy Searle.
#SA33 Mark Caruso had a trip they would prefer to forget, with transporter problems causing them to arrive late at the venue and losing their valuable 50 bonus points. “Apparently they had fuel problems and had to nurse the truck to even get there. After leaving Adelaide at 8.00pm Friday night and not arriving at Ballarat until almost 5.30pm” Searle tells us.
Newly crowned Victorian Title holder, #V4 Phil Lock did not have the best nights and seemed to struggle a bit. “Locky was still at the pointy end of the field but I know he would have liked to be a bit higher up in the final placings. Brother and Crew Chief Murray is still overseas with work commitments but was listening in on the Audio provided. Sending messages of encouragement through the night.” says Searle.
#V29 Ron Donaldson is showing his improvement every show and the time and effort the team devote is now paying off. - well done boys. Others not to have such a great night were #V25 David Cook with engine problems, #V15 Bill Fraser with front end dramas, #V49 Damien Dannett – who was back after his huge roll over at Nyora which destroyed their brand new chassis, but finished on the infield in the feature.
