Team Hutchins headed to Redline Speedway on Saturday night (13 Feb) for the running of Round 7 of the Allstars Sprintcar Series.

Heat 1, Damain Dannett (Damo) started out of 8th, but at the drop of the green flag he found himself struggling with the set up. Unfortunately, the V49 Modern Stainless Sprintcar slipped back to 11th position at the end of the heat. Back in the pits Team Hutchins got to work on the car to find the set up that would allow the team to move forward, and get the results they were looking for.

Damo was set to start from third position for his second heat, which went without any problems until a red light stoppage due to Mark Weaver and David Cook coming together on the back straight resulting in both cars sustaining front end damage. On the restart Damo was sitting in fourth position with 5 laps to go, with the rest of the heat running incident free, Damo crossed the line with a fourth place finish.

Now came the hard task, as Damo needed to battle his way through the B-main, with only the top six contenders transferring to the rear of the A-main. Starting from fifth he managed to maintain position and qualify the V49 Modern Stainless backed Sprintcar 17th of an 18 car field for the A-main.

The A-main got off to a great start, until 10 laps into the race Peter Logue came into contact with the back straight wall, dislodging the front wing. With Logue sent rear of field for bringing on the cautions, Damo moved up to 16th position. The restart did not go to plan with Damo hitting a rut in turn four and flipping, resulting in minor damage to the car, but was unable to restart.
