Aussie Titles Round 4 And Finals.
Barry motorsports posted Wednesday March 3, 2010.

Well, the final of the 2010 Australian 360 Sprintcar Titles has been run and won. Unfortunately, the Barry Motorsports SA 83 of Shannon Barry was not a part of the final. Shannon started his heat in round 4 from 7th, he made up one spot early, and was sitting in a spot that would see him gain a place direct into the final.

Approximately half way through the race, Shannon drited wide coming out of turn four and glanced the wall with his outside rear wheel. Shannon said that initially he felt that it wasn't a hard hit and thought he'd be OK, but two corners later the car lost drive, leaving him stuck up against the well on the back straight.

The car was brought back to the 83 crew on the back of a tractor. After a quick look at the rear of the car Wozza determined that the diff had been damaged, and would need to be replaced. With only about 15 minutes between the heat and the B main race, the team was always going to struggle to get a diff change completed in time. Sadly, the cars rolled out onto the track while the crew was preparing to fit the driveline, so that was the end of Shannon's tilt at the 2010 title.

After such a promising start to the weekend on night one, night two was exactly the opposite. Very frustrating for Shannon and the team. In four attampts at the National Titles, Shannon is yet to make the final, although this year he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has the pace, but tonight he just didn't have the luck. To win a National title, you need both.

Shannon's next race meeting will be in 3 weeks time in the Allstars Series in Victoria, we'll keep you up to date with how he goes in that one. Let us know if you've enjoyed being keep up to date by these emails during the weekend, It's great for us to know that we have plenty of support, both in the form of the crew, and sponsors, but also those who follow the fortunes of the team throughout the season. It's all very much appreciated by both Shannon and the team.
